Each grouse tail feather mount is hand‑crafted to order using feathers from a legally harvested grouse provided by the customer. This custom piece is arranged in a true diamond shape, with the frame oriented as a diamond rather than a square. The finished mount measures approximately 16 inches by 16 inches along the long edges, and is designed to highlight the natural pattern and character of the grouse tail feathers through a balanced, intentional layout.
Custom Order and Pricing
This is a fully custom item created from customer‑provided feathers. The listed price includes a natural pine frame. Other frame styles may be available for an additional cost, depending on material availability.
A non‑refundable $100 deposit is required to begin your custom order, with the remaining balance due prior to pickup or shipping once the piece is complete. Final pricing may vary based on feather condition and any customization requests.
Bird Submission Requirements
Customers are responsible for delivering or shipping their grouse.
Bird must be:
- Legally harvested
- Very fresh or frozen (Preferred)
- In good condition
- Free of excessive dirt of blood
Additional cleaning or preparation may result in an added fee. Detailed drop‑off or shipping instructions will be provided after your order is initiated.
Customization Details
Each grouse tail feather mount is fully custom and framed to order. Example layouts are shown in photos; however, minor layout adjustments may be requested when possible. Please note that customization requests may affect final pricing. Any feathers not used in the final mount become the property of Fur & Feather Creations.
Production Time
Most custom grouse tail feather mounts require approximately 8-12 weeks for completion once the feathers have been received and all design details are finalized.
How Custom Orders Work
After checkout, you will receive a Custom Intake Agreement to confirm layout preferences, frame selection, and delivery or shipping arrangements. Production begins only after the intake agreement has been completed and confirmed.
